Edison had met 2 ladies in his life. They were Mary Stilwell and Mina Miller.
When Mary was 16, and he was 24. They god married at Christmas, 25th December 1871. They had met 2 months earlier.
Edison and Mary Stilwell had 3 children, they are : Marion Estelle Edison (1873-1965), nicknamed "Dot", Thomas Alva Edison Jr. (1876-1937), nicknamed "Dash"; and William Leslie Edison (1878-1937). But they were really unfortunate, Mary Stilwell died when William was only 6, in 9th August 1884.
2 years later, Edison met Mina Miller, and they got married on 24th February 1886, when Edison was 39 and Mina was 20. 4 years later, they gave birth for their first child---Madeleine Edison (1888-1979), she married John Eyre Sloane, Charles Edison (1890-1969), who took over the company upon his father's death and later was elected Governor of New Jersey. He is buried in Rosedale Cemetery in Orange, New Jersey. Theodore Miller Edison (1898-1992). Mina outlived Edison, she died on 24th August 1947.
*EXTRA INFORMATION!*: Edison was died on 1931, and his son, Thomas Alva Edison Jr. was died after 4 years, he was 59.
The total amout of sons and daughters that Edison had were 6. The one lived for longest time was Theodore Miller Edison, he died when he was 94!

"Escaping" From School??
1. Edison went to school for only 3 months!?
Thomas Alva Edison was an amazing inventor, he was born on 11th February 1847 in Milan, Ohio; and he died on 18th 1931 in West Orange,k New Jersey, when he was 84 years old. His father, Samuel Ogden Edison, had 7 sons, adn edison was the youngest one, and his mother was Nancy Matthews Edison nee Elliott. His religion was Deist.
First, we must know the reason iof why Edison "escaped' from going back to school. His teacher, The Reverend Egle was feling tired to answer all the questions of that SUPER curious boy, and he nicknamed Edison, "Addled". So, Edison was requestd to leave that school. Then, his mother homeschooled him. His ears had developed a problem when he was young.
When he was homeschooled by hios mother, he loved to go to the basement of the house, the laboratory, during free time. He did many scientific experiments, and it demonstrated his talent in science and inventing. Most of his inventions were amazing. Some of them were belonged to telegraphy.
Although Edison was a bit too curious and annoying, he was a good boyntoo. He know what reflection was. When he quit the school, he thought, "My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so true of me; adn I felt I had something to live for, someone I must not disappoint." Actually, much of his education was come from reading R.G. Parker's "School of natural Philosophy" and "The cooper Union".
Growing Up
When he was grown up, he became a telegrapher operator after he saved 3 years Jimie MacKenzie from being stuck by a runaway train. Jimmie's father, station agent J.U. MacKenzie of Mount Clemens, Michigan, was so grateful that he trained Edison as a telegrapher. His first job was from port Huron was at Stratford Junction, Ontario, on the Grand Trunk Railway.
in 1866, at the age of 19, Edison moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where an employee of
Western union he worked the Associated Press bureau new wire.
Getting into Trouble
Every night, Edison requested to work overtime to do his favourite pastimes---reading and experimenting. Eventually, the latter pre-occupation cost his job.
One night in 1867, he was working with a battery when he spilled sulphur acid onto his boss' desk below. The next morning, he was fired.
